Mohawk Valley, Leather Stocking : Riding my bike into Mohawk, New York, which I had never visited before,a thought entered my mind which would not shake loose. It was the sudden realization that my whole life, from that first breath of air and my subsequent cry, to the moment that this unshakeable thought entered my being, all of it in total, and everything in between, occured so that I would end up in Mohawk, New York on May 25, 2006. All that I've ever done and thought, happened so I can be where I am at the present moment, nothing more, nothing less. I'm not sure what this means or if it has any meaning at all. I just thought I would pass it along.

9-27-2006 : Yes, once again,without fail, fall is in the air. I am always optimistic when summer begins that the summer is endless. Those are the summers that ran through my head when on the last day of school the bell rang and we left the school building like so many caged animals and we felt that warm sunshine. There were no limits. There was freedom, and joy and most of all, eternity. Now the summer slides by, almost without notice, and fades away along with the greens, the fledglings and the high, hot sun. The asters bloom and the leaves drop dry and brittle on the dying grasses. And yet every year when summer begins I see and I feel that glimpse of eternity that I felt so many, many years ago. So I am ever young, at least with this one thought, at least for a moment.
